Waterville is located in a very scenic area of Allamakee County. The city is close to many fishing streams and bountiful hunting areas. Yellow River State Forest is nearby. This small community hosts a variety of rural businesses serving the farmers and sportspeople and shoppers of the area. The current population is approximately 150.

Paint Creek runs directly through Waterville. It is a stocked trout stream that offers fishing action with easy access from the road. There is also a handicap access in the Kolsrud Park on the west edge of town.

Waterville is nestled in the hills of the scenic Paint Creek Valley. Its close proximity to the Yellow River Forest offers plenty of hiking trails and camping spots.

Make sure to take a stroll down main street Waterville and stop at our local businesses.

Waterville Elementary School is a public school located within the community which has an enrollment of around 164 children in grades K-5.

We invite you to visit Waterville, where the surrounding area is a sportsmen's paradise with hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.  Take a virtual visit of our community by scrolling through our website. We are a small city, but you will soon realize we are proud of our history and what we can offer today.
